Using the AIA Code of Ethics as a guide and applying the ethical decision making model, the architect will examine some of the everyday complex issues of professional practice, such as conflicts of interest, whistle-blowing, safety, confidentiality and gifts.

This course includes a multiple-choice quiz to test your understanding of the material.

At the conclusion of this course you will be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of contents of the American Institute of Architects Code of Ethics.

  • Use the AIA Code of Ethics as a guide for analyzing ethical issues.

  • Demonstrate understanding of professional conduct and ethics by examining specific cases/problems.

  • Analyze ôreal worldö case studies in terms of personal morals and values.

  • Apply the ethical decision making model to complex ethical issues of professional practice, such as conflicts of interest, whistle-blowing and gifts.
